[GET] Salt Lake County’s 5 golf courses are now open under modified operations – Forum

In compliance with Salt Lake County Health Department health orders, five Salt Lake County golf courses have begun operating under new social distancing guidelines to protect the health of patrons and employees.

Courses have been taking reservations since Friday after being closed for three weeks. Five courses, Meadow Brook, Riverbend, Mick Riley, Old Mill and Mountain View, will be operating under modified operations. South Mountain is not yet open.

Five Salt Lake City courses had opened a day earlier.

Here are the modified rules for the county courses:

• Golfers with fever or respiratory symptoms must be excluded.

• Golf tee times will be reservation only, no walk-ins.

• All tee times must be prepaid via phone. Check-ins will be no more than 20 minutes prior. The clubhouse will be closed to the public.

• The courses will be walking only. Golf cart and push-cart rentals will not be available. Personal push carts are acceptable, but personal golf carts are not permitted.

• No retail merchandise sales, club set rentals or food service will be available, and individual or group instruction is suspended for now.

• Temporary restrooms will be available outside the clubhouse, as will on-course restrooms, all of which will be cleaned hourly.

• Driving range and putting greens are closed.

• Golfers must observe 6-foot social distancing guidelines at all times.

• Golf cups will be raised, and a ball is considered holed when hits the raised cup. Flagsticks are to remain in holes. Golf scorecards and pencils are not available.

• On-course ball washers have been removed or covered. All sand trap rakes have also been removed.

If patrons fail to adhere to social distancing and modified operating guidelines, Salt Lake County reserves the right to ask patrons to leave the course immediately or close the golf courses entirely.
