Only two Alamo locations in the country are offering this deal!

I can’t be the only one who has missed going to the movie theaters. Before the pandemic, the Alamo Drafthouse was always a frequent stop for myself and my fiancé—we loved it! So, once I heard that Alamo is now offering people the chance to rent out a theater with the  « Your Own Private Alamo » program, I got super-excited!

At $150, you can reserve a theater for yourself and up to 30 guests. However, it’s important to note that there is also a required minimum food purchase of $150. Oh, and your friends still have to purchase their own tickets, too. (So it’s gonna be fairly expensive, but if you split it amongst you and your friends, it’ll be a little cheaper!)

According to the Alamo Drafthouse website, « Reservations can be made 3-14 days in advance—so you can book on Monday for a slot on Thursday. »

Once the host has rented out the theater, they’ll receive a personal link from the Alamo that can then be sent to up to 30 friends, who can then select their seats anywhere in the auditorium. This is also where you and your guests can purchase food and drinks, as well as their tickets.

In terms of safety procedures, the space will be sanitized before and after the movie, and there will be plenty of room for you and your friends and family to spread out. Masks will be required in all public spaces—including the lobbies, restrooms, and hallways—but once you’re in the theater auditorium, it’s totally up to you to wear a mask or not—unless, of course, there’s a local or state mandate in effect.

Currently, there are only two Alamo theaters across the country that are offering the program: Denver’s Sloans Lake location (CO) and Austin’s Slaughter Lane location (TX).
